Instructor Profiles
Nicky Edwards is qualified in Certificate 3 in Fitness with group exercise and has been teaching for 5 years after many years of participating in various freestyle classes and spending many hours at the gym!  Nicky is creative with choreograhy and mainly teaches Zumba, plus also some hi low and step. She is also a qualified SmartFitball and SmartBar instructor and has also qualified as a Lifesprints instructor. Nicky is also currently doing her Certificate IV in fitness.
 
Karen Howden is owner of The Music & Motion Studio and Kmotion.  She loves teaching - a passion dsicovered in her(very) late 40's after 18 years producing aerobic music, running fitness conventions and running instructor training courses. Karen's passion is getting people into aerobic exercise who haven't done it before - and to think of exercise as fun.  It's essential to reap the benefits of exercise but if it's not fun then you won't keep at it!    Karen teaches PILOXING, Sweat N Step, older adults classes, Pilates, Bootcamp, Circuit, Muscle Conditioning classes, ChiBall, Smartfitball, Smartcycle, BoxerCycle, Thump (boxing) to name a few.  She is a qualified Level 1 PILOXING Instructor, LIFESPRINTS instructor, Level 1 Chiball Trainer, qualified Certificate 3 in Fitness and Group Exercise, has Certificate 4 in Fitness (PT)< Certificate 4 in TAA and recently completed Pilates for Everbody matwork training.  Of course Level 2 first aid and CPR quaifications go without saying!  Outside fitness Karen loves walking her dogs, movies and yummy meals with friends and family.
 
Martin Howden has a passion for boxing and kickboxing and shares this with members at Kmotion, of which he is a co-owner.   Many members have joined with no desire to get into boxing and now have become passionate about boxing for fitness and wouldn't miss a class. Martin is an Advanced Thump Trainer as well as has many years of boxing experience prior to teaching. Martin also is a qualified SmartCycle instructor, and has members working hard in the cycle classes. Other qualifications include Lifesprints, Smartfitball, Smartbar and he has Certificate 3 in Fitness and recently completed Certificate 4 in Fitness (PT) as well as having Level 2 First Aid and CPR.  His sense of humour and passion for exercise as a means for a healthy, happy life make him a popular instructor among members.  Interests outside the gym include walking the dogs, and taking his motorbike out for spin!
 

Candice Black is a a dance teacher and group exercise instructor.  She has been dancing for many years in Australia and overseas.  Candice teaches FUNKY DANCE classes to children as well as adults.  She is fun, creative and has a passion for dance and sharing her knowledge with those of us who want to learn.  Everyone enjoys her classes from 2 year olds to 70 year olds as she has the ability to make everyone feel special and capable!

Puja Shah-Desai holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga from Gujarat Vidyapithy (a Mahatma Gandhi Institute in India) and has been practising and teaching yoga since 2005.   Puja has also choreographed and hosted fitness shows on TV in India, along with her work being acknowledge by articles published in various local and national Indian newspapres.  She is also a qualified Group Exercise instructor as well as Certificate 4 in Fitness.  Come and join Puja in her weekly Monday night yoga class.

Joyce Ford has been teaching for many years and presenting instructor training.  In her "spare" time she is a part time physiotherapist.  Joyce is always happy and enthusiastic and wants to share her love of exercise with everyone. Joyce specialises in aerobics and step and has recently added Zumba to her repertoire so join her at Kmotion for a bit of wiggle and giggle Zumba style!
